How To Play The G#7 Ukulele Chord
To play the G#7 chord, place the index finger on the 1st fret of the top g-string, ring finger on the 3rd fret of the C-string, middle finger on the 2nd fret of the E-string, and little finger on the 3rd fret of the bottom A-string.
G#7 Ukulele Chord Explanation
The Ab7 chord (also known as a G#7 chord) contains the notes Ab-C-Eb-Gb.
To build an Ab7 chord, take the dominant seventh formula (1-3-5-b7) and apply it to the Ab major scale (Ab, Bb, C, Db, Eb, F, G).
Identify the first, third, fifth, and flat seventh scale degrees in the Ab major scale which are Ab-C-Eb-Gb.
Notice how the seventh scale degree found in the chord is lowered a half step as indicated by the "flat" or "b" that precedes the number "b7". In this case, the seventh scale degree of an Ab major scale – a "G" note is lowered a half step to a "Gb" note to make the chord a dominant seventh chord.
