How To Play The F#7 Ukulele Chord
To play the F#7 chord, place the middle finger on the 3rd fret of the top g-string, ring finger on the 4th fret of the C-string, index finger on the 2nd fret of the E-string, and little finger on the 4th fret of the bottom A-string.
F#7 Ukulele Chord Explanation
The F#7 chord (also known as a Gb7 chord) contains the notes F#-A#-C#-E.
To build an F#7 chord, take the dominant seventh formula (1-3-5-b7) and apply it to the F# major scale (F#, G#, A#, B, C#, D#, E#).
Identify the first, third, fifth, and flat seventh scale degrees in the F# major scale which are F#-A#-C#-E.
Notice how the seventh scale degree found in the chord is lowered a half step as indicated by the "flat" or "b" that precedes the number "b7". In this case, the seventh scale degree of an F# major scale – a "E#" note is lowered a half step to a "E" note to make the chord a dominant seventh chord.
