The C#dim chord, also known as a Dbdim chord, contains the notes C#-E-G.

To build a C#dim chord, take the diminished triad formula (1-b3-b5) and apply it to the C# major scale (C#, D#, E#, F#, G#, A#, B#).

Identify the first, third, and fifth scale degrees in a C# major scale which are C#-E#-G#.

Lower the third and fifth scale degrees a half step in accordance with the diminished triad formula, which results in the notes C#-E-G for the C#dim chord.
