How To Play The Abaug Ukulele Chord
To play the Abaug chord, place the index finger on the 1st fret of the top g-string and ring finger on the 3rd fret of the bottom A-string. Let the other strings ring open.
Abaug Ukulele Chord Explanation
The Abaug chord (also known as a G#aug chord) contains the notes Ab-C-E.
To build an Abaug chord, take the augmented triad formula (1-3-#5) and apply it to the Ab major scale (Ab, Bb, C, Db, Eb, F, G).
Identify the first, third, and fifth scale degrees in an Ab major scale which are Ab-C-Eb.
Because the fifth scale degree is a "#5" (said "sharp five") raise the Eb note a half step to E making the chord augmented with the notes Ab-C-E.
