Amin7 Ukulele Chord Explanation
The Am7 chord contains the notes A-C-E-G.
To build a Am7 chord, take the minor seventh chord formula (1-b3-5-b7) and apply it to the A major scale (A, B, C#, D, E, F#, G#).
Identify the first, third, fifth, and seventh scale degrees in a A major scale which are A-C#-E-G#.
Lower the third and seventh scale degrees a half step in accordance with the minor seventh chord formula, which results in the notes A-C-E-G for the Am7 chord.
