How To Play The Ebadd9 Ukulele Chord
To play the Ebadd9 chord, perform a barre by pressing your index finger on the E-string and bottom-A string on the 1st fret and ring finger on the 3rd fret of the C-string. Let the other string ring open.
Ebadd9 Ukulele Chord Explanation
The Ebadd9 chord, also known as a D#add9, but sometimes referred to as an Ebsus2 or D#sus2 chord, contains the notes Eb-G-Bb-F.
To build an Ebadd9 chord, take the major triad formula (1-3-5) and add in the theoretical ninth scale degree (1-3-5-9) using the Eb major scale, which has the notes Eb, F, Gb, Ab, Bb, C, D.
Notice how a major scale has just seven notes. How do we get the ninth scale degree? Repeat the scale and count nine notes:
Eb, F, Gb, Ab, Bb, C, D, Eb, F, Gb, Ab, Bb, C, D
Note: The ninth scale degree is underlined.
Identify the first, third, fifth, and ninth scale degrees in the Eb major scale which are Eb-G-Bb-F.
