Strumming the ukulele is one of the biggest challenges new ukulele players face.
Have you ever had this happen to you?
“Help! My fingers get stuck between the strings!”
“Ouch! My fingers hurt when I strum.”
“Ugh. My strings snap, buzz and click when I strum.”
You might think there’s something wrong with you but you’re just fine. These are common challenges and the path towards correcting these things starts with a solid strumming technique.
Let’s get your strumming sounding smooth, clear and crisp!
In this first video from the Essentials course found in the Club Ukulele online video lesson library, learn the most important ukulele chord you’ll ever play, and, learn how to prevent chords from buzzing with one simple trick.
Once you’ve practiced that, move to the next video where you learn strumming technique and the most important strumming pattern ever.
You can use this strumming pattern to play any song. Even though it’s a simple strumming pattern, it’s one I use quite often.
Give that some practice and take your time with it. There’s no need to rush.
Tomorrow, I’ll send you the next lesson. Remember I’m here to help you play your first song on the ukulele in less than a week. You will use the techniques you learn in these videos to play your first song.
Excellent work!
